Uno de los objetivos de\u00a0Los primeros negros en las Am\u00e9ricas<\/em>\u00a0es estimular y alentar el inicio y la producci\u00f3n de investigaciones adicionales en las fuentes hist\u00f3rico-archivales existentes que contienen los fragmentos de datos hist\u00f3ricos necesarios para continuar reconstruyendo la historia de las personas negras en la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana y el resto de las Am\u00e9ricas, datos a menudo dispersos en cientos de folios o p\u00e1ginas de manuscritos de los primeros siglos de la modernidad. A trav\u00e9s de la recopilaci\u00f3n y publicaci\u00f3n de algunas de las fuentes hist\u00f3ricas en bruto, esta herramienta educativa pretende mostrar que es posible para nosotros en los albores del siglo XXIst<\/sup>\u00a0siglo para producir conocimiento nuevo y m\u00e1s completo sobre aquellos primeros negros de las Am\u00e9ricas ya sea a trav\u00e9s del \u201cdescubrimiento\u201d de fuentes largamente olvidadas o a trav\u00e9s de la revisi\u00f3n aguda de aquellas que ya hab\u00edan sido utilizadas por los pocos historiadores que comenzaron a aventurarse en estos documentos hace alrededor de medio siglo.<\/p>

Hay necesidad de que m\u00e1s recursos financieros de los que produce y gasta nuestra sociedad se dediquen e inviertan en la formaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica y cient\u00edfica de investigadores-historiadores con las destrezas b\u00e1sicas y la concentraci\u00f3n tem\u00e1tica que les permitan extraer la informaci\u00f3n dormida en las fuentes. Como el minado de metales preciosos del subsuelo que todav\u00eda demanda grandes inversiones en nuestra econom\u00eda nacional y mundialmente a menudo tiene que procesar (y desestructurar) toneladas de mineral bruto para obtener peque\u00f1as cantidades de apreciados metales, as\u00ed mismo reconstruir los detalles de la historia temprana de nuestros antepasados negros en las Am\u00e9ricas (y de paso, la historia de todos los grupos y categor\u00edas sociales olvidados) requiere la lectura y an\u00e1lisis de grandes cantidades de documentaci\u00f3n archiv\u00edstica existente, con la diferencia de que este trabajo historiogr\u00e1fico produce una contribuci\u00f3n constructiva neta a nuestra cultura sin alterar ninguno de los aspectos del funcionamiento saludable de nuestras sociedades. \u00a0<\/p>

Como resultado de la experiencia de investigaci\u00f3n inicial involucrada en la producci\u00f3n de\u00a0Primeros Negros en las Am\u00e9ricas \/ Los Primeros Negros en las Am\u00e9ricas<\/em>el equipo del CUNY DSI encargado de este proyecto sostiene la firme convicci\u00f3n de que si una cantidad respetable de financiamiento fuese invertida en el estudio a nivel de archivo de las fuentes hist\u00f3ricas de las que en este portal se ofrece una muestra, en un per\u00edodo relativamente corto de tiempo algo as\u00ed como una revoluci\u00f3n de nuevo conocimiento hist\u00f3rico se podr\u00eda generar que aportar\u00eda evidencia y comprensi\u00f3n mucho m\u00e1s amplias sobre las vidas y experiencias de los primeros habitantes negros no solo de la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana sino de todos los otros pa\u00edses de las Am\u00e9ricas durante los tiempos modernos, un avance que solo podr\u00eda tener efectos positivos para nuestras sociedades.\n\nCreemos que la memoria hist\u00f3rica de y sobre la gente negra de las Am\u00e9ricas a\u00fan se puede expandir y profundizar considerablemente y que la inversi\u00f3n de fondos p\u00fablicos y privados en esta tarea es una obligaci\u00f3n social y cultural con un potencial positivo para todos.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
